Roman Holiday

Overwhelmed by her suffocating schedule touring Europe, Princess Ann (Audrey Hepburn) runs away in Rome. When she falls asleep on a park bench she is found by an American reporter, Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck), who takes her back to his apartment for safety. Roman Holiday was Hepburn’s first major film role, her first appearance in an American film, and her first Best Actress Award. The film was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won three: Best Actress (Hepburn), Best Story (Dalton Trumbo), and Best Costume Design (Black and White) (Edith Head).

C5 has nominated Rome as “Best Supporting City” based on this film.
